In an emergency, minutes matter. The number one cause of preventable death after injury is bleeding—but with just three quick actions, you can be trained to help save a life.
STOP THE BLEED is a national awareness and training program designed to empower everyday people to act quickly and confidently when severe bleeding occurs.
Join us in Stuyvesant Square Park for a free, one-hour workshop led by NYC Health + Hospitals. This interactive session will teach participants how to recognize life-threatening bleeding and take immediate action while waiting for first responders.
Led by Julia Burstein, MPH, Injury Prevention and Trauma Outreach Coordinator at NYC Health + Hospitals, the training includes hands-on instruction in essential techniques such as applying tourniquets and using sterile gauze in critical situations.
Whether you’re a parent, neighbor, or passerby, this workshop offers practical skills that could help save a life.
