Creatures of NY: Stenciling Squirrels

Join artist, writer, and educator Shawne Cooper for Stenciling Squirrels, the second session in Creatures of NY, a playful outdoor art workshop series in Stuyvesant Square Park.
This free workshop introduces stencil-making and layering techniques inspired by the squirrels and everyday wildlife of New York City parks. Designed for all ages and all skill levels, the session invites participants to gather around communal tables, connect with neighbors, and experience the park through art, observation, and imagination.
No drawing experience is necessary. Beginners, experienced artists, families, and curious park lovers are all welcome.
Supplies are provided. Donations are welcome.

About Shawne Cooper
Shawne Cooper is a New York City-based visual storyteller, urban sketcher, and creative instructor who leads public drawing sessions, workshops, and sketching adventures throughout the city. Her practice focuses on capturing everyday NYC scenes, museum exhibits, architectural landmarks, and neighborhood life, often combining sketching with creative writing.
